The first collection day in 2024
Last Friday, February 16, the "Collection Day BW" took place for the fourth time in the Ernst-von-Sieglin lecture hall at the Institute of Classical Archaeology at Hohentübingen Castle in Tübingen. The idea behind the event is to provide a forum for the scientific collections at all universities, academies and (technical) colleges in Baden-Württemberg in order to provide a platform for colleagues who - often as lone fighters without a lobby in their own institution or resources - dedicate themselves to their neglected cultural, historical and scientific heritage. What was particularly nice for us was not only that a family-like community is growing together here, but also that it is growing more and more - despite a number of cancellations due to illness. Around 30 participants from Freiburg, Furtwangen, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Pforzheim, Reutlingen, Stutgart and, of course, Tübingen took part in the event, which included a full-day workshop as well as guided tours. The collection network of the University of Stuttgart was represented by Katja Stefanie Engstler (Collections of Mathematical Models), Klemens Krause (Computer Museum Stuttgart) and Katharina Wilke (University Library).
