Collection of different wire and fiber ropes and their end connections

Wire and fiber ropes are developed and researched at the Institute of Materials Handling and Logistics (IFT). As a certified testing institute, several test rigs are operated in the institute's own rope laboratory. The results are used to improve safety technology. Typical cases of damage to wire ropes are internal wire breaks, cage formation or the formation of strand loops. After being used in research, these rope damages or material samples are used as demonstration pieces in showcases at the institute or in teaching to provide students with practical training.
